The U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for position of Telecommunications Technician
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
The incumbent performs full range of activities including cable network installations, modifications, maintenance, and repair of analog and digital telephone switching systems, and has a proficient knowledge of Fiber Optic and Ethernet cable structures and testing equipment.
The incumbent is responsible for installation, support, and maintenance for the Mission’s voice and data lines provided by vendors to the demark rooms.
The incumbent will provide full maintenance and support to all official residential phone lines at Maadi, Downtown, and other official residences.
Job Requirements
Two years of College in the telecommunication field.
Three (3) years of experience in telephone/data wiring and equipment is required
Level III (good working knowledge) in English is required. Level IV (fluent) in Arabic is required
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
Possess technical expertise in the use of test meters and test equipment, read schematics, work on electrical circuits, circuit boards and line cards. Driving license is required.
