Job Description
Banking Application Support Manager responsible for multiple issues encompassing banking application availability, patching, performance, 2nd level support (24x7) and release management. The Application Support Manager directs daily operations of the support teams, manages key metrics, service delivery and is responsible for planning and execution of projects that support goals and address operational challenges.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Focal point of contact with business line(s)
Collecting/ analysing all business requirements either the annual pipeline or ad-hoc requirements coving changes or project initiatives
Translate business needs into clear amendments/change requirements for the IT technical teams to work accordingly and transform these requirements into system options / products or systems.
Act as advocate while discussing business needs and present business expectations to IT teams.
Build awareness of business priorities & pains
Set time lines. Build the annual delivery pipeline & deployment calendar and meet the promise
Build action plan to recover the issues and/ or concerns
Liaison point between IT & Business for better alignment, requirements management
Periodic reporting and review meetings as well as plans update
Ensure business team accountability for and owner ship for business initiatives.
Secure required business resources needed for IT delivery.
Ensure execution of action plans agreed with business partner as per agreed timelines
Manage business escalations at early stages
Collecting/ analysing all business requirements either the annual pipeline or ad-hoc requirements coving changes or project initiatives
Group and prioritize ad-hoc requirements during the year (to avoid scattered or redundant) CRs
Discuss with business to set priorities
Follow strict BIA process to identify impact of new requirements/ changes. filling the demand form (business part) then hand it over after getting confirmation from business solution team parties (solution services, channels and architecture)
If the demand is a project, RM will search the suitable solutions and arrange for needed demos and will return back with business requirements document (including the concerned parties in business solutions area) while PMO will handle the IT capacity planning, budgeting, RFP & vendor selection
If the CR or project is concerning delivery channels, the technical part is handled by the channels team
Same applies for operational CRs that will be technically handled by Solution services team (after finalizing the business requirements)
If the demand is a CR it will pass the CAB meeting that include all parties before entering to prioritization meeting and approved CR requests will be managed by RM over the HPSM & EPM till completion.
Formulate additional business requirements raised during projects as qualified demand requests (Project change management is the responsibility of PM including approvals, Impact analysis on project)

For approved demand requests, RM build and manage business delivery calendar with the business line head and agree on planned deployment calendar (projects dates are provided by PM and coming as part of the calendar)
Agree on Actions/ process to be followed to get the required results from the IT team
Sharing time lines and progress for all delivery pipeline
Build action plan to recover the issues and/ or concerns
Do PIR for CRs in terms of business benefits realization.
Set and manage timeline to sort out critical issues
Manage the relation (Reporting and Meetings - to be managed by RM and attended by relevant IT parties)
Liaison point between IT & Business for better alignment, requirements management
Weekly progress reports on CRs
Monthly business calendar update
Monthly Service delivery Pipeline review (CRs, projects (in presence of PM))
Quarterly review meetings for incidents
O&T Partner meeting (on causal basis)
Ensure business team accountability for and owner ship for business initiatives
Secure required business resources for requirements gathering, demos, testing, sanity checks or
Update IT seniors regularly with current issues specially the critical & chronic ones to act on resolving or providing workarounds
Ensure execution of action plans agreed with business partner as per agreed timelines
Manage business escalations at early stages
IT internal reporting periodic & Ad-hoc
Maintain full set of documentation in compliance with SOP
Job Requirements
B. sc Engineering or MIS from reputable university
Business analysis certification is a plus (ex CBAP)
6-9 years of experience in banking industry as Sr business + system analyst and/or Application implementer
Job specific Skills
A Good knowledge of banking systems and databases
Good knowledge in SW design tools.
Good understanding of project management concepts, disciplines,
Implementing/ understanding MS Project, MS Office products and other related tools.
Ability to draw on a wide variety of skills to enhance delivery and performance.
Use expert judgment skill and experience to decide on issues facing plan critical path.
Plan and execute multiple business initiatives, balancing department, organizational demand and resources.
Delivery of timely and accurate information for decision-making.
Strong presentation & negotiation skills.
Strong understanding of business analysis and impact analysis tools
