Job Description
The Expense Control Accountant will be responsible to:
Process expenditures with the fullest attention to detail in order to ensure they are in accordance with Policies & Procedures and IFRS.
Communicate effectively and provide a prompt, accurate, professional and courteous customer service to all UOS Vendors, Colleges and Centers, including Faculty, Staff and Students.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Receive invoices from vendors and matching these to the purchase orders made. Including review of invoices to ensure that they are VAT compliant.
Confirm that all items are received and properly invoiced.
Review all purchase requests for proper documentation including technical reports to issue payment.
Handling the University's cheque disbursement and fund transfer requests using the Banner System in accordance with the University Policies and Procedures.
Coordinate with faculty, staff, students and different departments, such as Purchasing to resolve issues related to payments
Communicate with vendors regarding their payment.
Review invoice queue to ensure that payments are prioritized based on the approved credit periods.
Perform account reconciliations for suppliers on a periodic basis; troubleshoot and analyze discrepancies.
Monitoring and maintaining email communications with Vendors, University Units, Faculty and Staff.
Maintaining financial information, files, and records for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established polices and regulatory guidelines.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree/higher diploma
Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an educational institution or large organization.
