Team Leader-Driver-Campus Physical Development & Services Department (CPDS)
Works as a Team leader within the Campus Physical Development & Services department to ensure the effectiveness of the University’s fleet of vehicles and over-all coordination of transport and administrative operations specific to ground transportation for providing consistent and high level of professional services to the ZU community.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Operational Responsibilities:
Assists the Travel Services Officers in preparing and allocating resources for the daily transportation schedule.
Establishes standards related to vehicle maintenance, cleanliness, driver decorum and subsequent maintenance of these standards.
Maintains the annual vehicle replacement plan for the department and assists the Campus Physical Development & Services Coordinator in preparing the status reports and recommendations related to the same, which are subsequently approved by the Director of Campus Physical Development & Services.
Schedules vehicle maintenance and follows up with the relevant external supplier/garage to ensure satisfactory completion of tasks in a timely manner.
Makes recommendations to the Campus Physical Development & Services Coordinator on suppliers, carries out ongoing evaluations of existing suppliers and exploring the options of new suppliers in the market to ensure the university is maintaining vehicles to the highest standards with the best value for money.
Ensures the daily checks of all vehicles to ensure that vehicles are well maintained.
Checks the daily vehicle logs held in the car and also in the office ensuring that procedures are followed and any deviations are corrected.
General:
Assists with performance feedback to the coordinator so as to facilitate the annual Performance Evaluations for the team.
Works with the Campus Physical Development & Services Management Team in setting of annual objectives, communication of these to the team and successful implementation.
Assists the Travel Services Officer and Campus Physical Development & Services Coordinator as required deputizing for them when they are absent.
Responsible for the team of drivers, coaching and encouraging them to maintain an environment where open communication exists and the highest standards of service delivery is maintained.
Is responsible for the on-job training of new drivers and also the ongoing training and refreshment on procedures and standards with the team.
Participates in the hiring process for new drivers.
Identifies and provides recommendations to the Campus Physical Development & Services Coordinator on the training needs for the drivers.
Assists in the Business Center when required to provide administrative assistance to students, staff and faculty.
Assists the Convention Center when needed with major events.
Carries out the duties assigned by the Committees to which appointed e.g. Staff Affairs Committee
Works with the other team leaders within Campus Physical Development & Services to ensure that the best service is provided to the Campus Community and enhancements are made in the service already provided by the department
Job Requirements
Fluency in English.
Highly computer literate completion of the ICDL Certificate would be very beneficial.
Valid UAE Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Desired requirements
Experience managing a startup operation.
Knowledge of the U.A.E Market for vehicle maintenance.
Working knowledge of Arabic & Hindi would be beneficial.
