Job Description
Provide first level technical support to users of business operating systems and act as the primary liaison point between the department and EGIT for day-to-day system operations. Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of systems, procedures, manuals and training.
Our team is focused on providing high quality data for analytics and reporting. You will support the Business Intelligence department, ensuring the business continuity of data & analytics solutions created by the projects team. On a daily basis you could be investigating data inconsistencies, performing admin activities in the DWH or reporting solutions, contribute to improving performance & timing of data integrations, helping end-users understand their reporting, or delivering one of hundreds of ad-hoc needs the department receives from its internal customers to change data & dashboards.
You will need to be flexible, and collaborative, with a keen sense of responsibility to ensure that our solutions are robust.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Provide front-line support to 500 internal customers, ensuring their data & reporting is being delivered in an accurate, consistent & timely manner
Identify data inconsistencies and resolve the issue in data sourcing, data modelling and/or reporting
Support team by assisting with the preparation of data sets, reports, and summaries using SQL, Sisense and Excel
Perform standard reoccurring reporting
Develop skills necessary to help with querying custom data sets from our internal DWH
Develop a familiarity with departmental processes
Complete ad-hoc requests independently while verifying data and working with other departments
Participate in educational opportunities and increase knowledge of data & analytical concepts and processes.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree. A numerate discipline such as engineering, mathematics or statistics preferred, but open to others
Minimum 1+ years of work experience in SQL development role, preferably with SSIS experience
Experience with one of Power BI, SAP Business Objects, Sisense (or similar) preferred
Experience using MS Excel
Knowledge/Skills
Diploma or higher in Information Technology is desirable.
Experience in software design and testing with experience of business intelligence tools and advanced MS Excel.
Emirates Holidays only: Relevant experience to include in an operational systems environment within a tour operator environment with demonstrable experience in the development and implementation of customised business solutions and specifications Experience of preparing manuals, procedures and user documentation.
Knowledge/skills: Proficiency in MS-Office packages and working knowledge of data analysis tools Proficiency in computer software design and testing Demonstrable ability to analyse data effectively.
