Job Description
The Special Assets function is critical to prudently managing the bank’s identified distressed accounts; and this role provides crucial support, via supporting credit administration, portfolio monitoring and reporting, for the efficient and effective management of the Special Assets portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Credit Support
Liaising with all operations Unit on documentation, security, MER, statements, transactions etc., performing middle office functions.
Follow up on audited and management accounts, which will be required for financial analysis and credit proposal preparation.
Maintain and record data that is used for assessing and structuring proposals and transactions.
Administer the CPs and documentation, coordinate and contribute in the creation and renewal of CPs, HRCs, and any other relevant reporting mechanism.
Ensure data is current and available in order to maintain credit presentation standards.
Maintain a monitoring and follow up process to ensure timely submission of HRCs and CPs across the team.
Ensure data is populated in the control and tracking MI reports for monitoring the assigned portfolio.
MIS & Reporting
Assist the line manager in Interactions with auditors, regulators and other critical external stakeholders, contributing to a constructive working relationship with them.
Develop and maintain MIS for SA Unit key indicators. Ensure accurate and timely data and MIS are maintained for the SA portfolio
Develop a commanding knowledge and understanding of all SA policies and procedures; ensure they are rigorously followed by the team.
Assist the line manager in in ensuring that controls are effectively maintained in line with the bank’s Operational Risk Framework, CB UAE circulars, etc.
Review monthly CPR for accuracy and changes.
Ensure the Unit completes HR requirements and follow-up.
Job Requirements
The candidate must hold a relevant postgraduate degree, preferably an MBA.
Positive Attitude is a must.
Excellent Excel skills and ability to present complex data in a meaningful format.
Knowledge, understanding and experience of having handled administrative duties in the past; and relevant industry experience in banking.
Flawless writing and presentation skills.
Sharp business acumen (including ability to assess risk and appropriate levels of return).
Excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Understanding of best practice risk management techniques and frameworks.
Exemplary integrity, ethics, independence and resilience.
