    The U.S. Mission in the UAE is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Community Liaison Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

    • The Community Liaison Office (CLO) employs a CLO coordinator with in the Management office under the direct supervision of the Management Officer.

    • The CLO develops and manages a comprehensive program to improve post morale and ensure fluid communication between the Consulate General and Eligible Family Members (EFM) at post.

    • Morale is directly affected by the quality of life issues related to the Foreign Service (FS) life style and post-specific environment.

    • The CLO coordinator identifies the needs of the post community and responds with effective programming, including information, resources, referrals and cultural recreation programs.

    • Serving as the community advocate for employees and family members, the CLO Coordinator advises post management ad the Consul General on quality of life issues, recommends solutions, and family friendly policies.

    • Contributes to, prepares and publishes a weekly Post Newsletter with information on CLO services, activities, articles and other resources available in the CLO office for Consulate Community.

    • Education:

    • Completion of Secondary School or Local Mandatory Schooling and received high school diploma

    • Work Experience:

    • Five years of educational or professional experience in even planning, counseling, customer service, social work, or a related field required

    • Language:

    • Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of Consulate/embassy operations is a plus

    • Abilities and Skills:

    • Proficient Skills with MS word, Microsoft Publisher, and Excel are required.

    • Ability to search and find information, and resources on the internet is also required.

    • able to learn MS Access, Power Point, Publisher or other desktop publishing software with in the probationary period.

    • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
