Job Description
This position is responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic direction agreed for HSBC Global Markets to ensure the maximization of profitable, client driven and professionally managed asset growth of this business. This role is pivotal to the Markets initiatives within the MENA region.
Liasing with Analytics closely to track the liquidity position and to raise short and long term funding as when required. The role holder will also manage interest rate risk positions on BSM books under ALM approved transfer pricing principles. Responsibilities commensurate with level assigned
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Liquidity Management (internal and externally generated liquidity)
Funding Management while ensuring Compliance with ALCO policy, Completion of quarterly funding plans and Efficient execution of funding plans
Cash Management: reviewing balances for primary nostros/central bank accounts, pricing of Balance Sheet Resource for Global Markets and execution of business in accordance with the policies
Strategic Management and ensuring smooth implementation/transition with no unforeseen losses as well as clear communication of impact and resourcing requirements well in advance
Analytics and provisioning of accurate data in a timely manner
Market & Regulatory Liaison, maintain regular contact with external network and staying up-to-date with industry best practice and implement this for BSM
Staff Management in terms of staff turnover and completion of annual review prcocess in a timely manner
Job Requirements
Demonstrated strong business and market knowledge, ideally experience of working in complex sales business unit with accountability for a P&L
Demonstrated knowledge of technology development and infrastructure and how this can be used to meet business needs
To have good communication skills
Ideally to have both front and back office experience within a global investment banking environment
Commercial, Financial, Accounting and HR acumen
Experience of dealing with clients and managing client relationships
Ability to manage and mitigate operational risk effectively
Experience of managing within a complex matrix environment
Experience working across cultures
Experience of working in geographically dispersed team
Understanding of the HSBC Group and its strategy, structures and processes
Knowledge of the external environment - regulatory, political, competitor and market
