    Carry out audits and other assignments (investigations and involvement in product development) and report on the effectiveness / adequacy of Internal Controls, compliance to the policies and procedures to safeguard the assets of the bank. Make recommendations to improve the bank’s processes.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

    • As part of a team, carry out the risk assessment of all functional units of the bank and subsidiaries for the purpose of preparing a risk based Audit Plan of the bank.

    • As an Auditor Incharge, prepare an audit plan of a unit as per the internal risk based criteria to focus on and highlight key control breakdowns.

    • Identify weaknesses in the effectiveness of controls and key processes of the unit(s) and provide appropriate recommendations for improvement to minimize risk and safeguard the assets of the bank.

    • Develop action plans and present for discussions and acceptance in Exit meetings at the end of the audit for common understanding on issues and agree to appropriate steps to be taken by the unit to ensure that these do not re-occur.

    • As an Auditor Incharge, manage audit team to execute audits with focus on the processes under review and effectively communicate with the Unit Management to improve deficiencies and identify opportunities for improvements.

    • Provide coaching and on the job training to junior auditors to enhance their skills to carry out audits more objectively.

    • Conduct process audits of different units such as trade finance, accounts & finance, treasury, etc.

    • Develop a cordial and professional working relationship with the internal customers for the purpose of mutual understanding, easy communication and to obtain their “buy in” on audit findings and suggested opportunities for improvement.

    • Participate in teams formed for streamlining processes / product development, standard Operating Procedures, etc., identify best practices and recommend opportunities for improvement in the existing processes.


    Job Requirements

    • CA or MBA preferably with Banking Diploma.

    • Relevant experience in Trade Finance areas is a must.

    • Audit in CAAT environment.

    • 5 – 7 years’ experience in the bank with 2 – 3 years in audit environment or 7 – 8 years experience in an audit firm.

    • Good command over spoken and written English.
