    ALEXBANK is currently recruiting for the role of Social Performance & Reporting Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

    • Provide technical assistance to the regulated staff, and the public pertaining to environmental impact and compliance

    • Assist in the development of action plans and recommendations of permitted facilities

    • Prepare work plans, reports and project deliverables, develop scopes of work and prepare costs for remediation projects

    • Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope

    • Analyze ALEXBANK’s E&S risk management and implementation of E&S policies, guidelines and rules

    • Perform E&S risk management training of Relationship Managers

    • Ensure the coordination and integration of E&S risk management procedures with internal credit process

    • Report any major E&S issues to senior management and secure the support for and approval of E&S risk management issues by senior management

    • Review or coordinate the day-to-day E&S tasks performed by other staff (i.e., credit officers, environmental and social specialists, and consultants).

    • Support all involved functions in: evaluating environmental compliance of a target client company with applicable requirements during due diligence, such as site visits, collection of necessary E&S documentation (e.g., certificates and authorizations), preparation of E&S due diligence reports (or an E&S section of the credit application, monitoring the implementation of E&S action plan (if any) by the clients, reviewing clients’ annual reports, and preparing a time-bound corrective action plan with specific follow-up procedures.

    • Prepare ALEXBANK’s annual environmental performance report, based on the annual performance reports provided by its client companies

    • Ensure that these procedures are implemented for each project, and that records of environmental reviews (i.e., appraisal and monitoring) are maintained

    • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to international studies, relevant studies and national regulations to ensure compliance.

    • Review technical/program documents and applications

    • Manage consultants

    • Participate in environmental and social audits to assure compliance and identify potential issues


    Job Requirements

    • 3-5 years in the environmental field or in the risk underwriting field with pronounced interest in the environment.

    • Fluent with Microsoft Word and Excel programs.

    • Ability to self-direct and self-manage is a must.

    • Ability to understand and interpret environmental rules and statutes; balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks and complete assignments by applicable deadlines; synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly; develop and write technical documentation; and summarize completed tasks and recommendations to senior staff through reports.

    • Knowledge of Egyptian environmental laws and regulations and industry standards.

    • Excellent technical writing, data management, organizational and communication skills.

    • Ability to travel is a must (short duration).
