Etihad Airways is currently looking for a Legal Counsel
This legal counsel role will be based in Abu Dhabi and will primarily provide primary legal support to Etihad commercial organization (sales, marketing, strategy, loyalty and other relevant areas). In addition, this legal counsel will also execute on other priorities as assigned by the Manager.
Etihad Airways is looking for an energetic problem solver with a can-do attitude to help grow its business by providing practical guidance on wide variety of legal areas such as commercial contracts as well as regulatory advice.

Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Provides drafting and negotiation on commercial agreements
Engages with business partners proactively to anticipate legal and regulatory challenges and works with business partners to develop innovative solutions to drive business forward and yet achieve legal and regulatory compliance
Advise business partners on legal governance, policies and procedures
Performs well under pressure and close transactions of high level complexity
Perform complex legal analysis, researches and investigations related to topics of generally high complexity and risk to support department/function/business in the management of standard legal practice areas
Drafts/review documents and analysis drafted by paralegals, contract administrators or Legal advisers to ensure that Etihad’s best interests are served in an effective manner
Provide full suite of legal services to the assigned function/department to support in the management of all legal topics and documents (i.e. contracts development) to ensure compliance with domestic and international regulations
Provide legal review of complex documents drafted by the assigned function/department to ensure compliance with internal procedures and with external regulations
Manage complex legal issues and investigations to ensure resolution to the best interest of Etihad
Provide legal advice to assigned function/department in relation to complex legal matters directly impacting organizations performance and results
Flag potential legal risks to senior management and propose practical mitigation options to ensure that risks are avoided or reduced
Prepare training materials and deliver training on relevant legal matters to ensure business functions are aware of main internal/external regulations and procedures and of relevant risks
Job Requirements
Required: Minimum Bachelor Degree in Law or Juris Doctorate degree. Western qualified with admission as attorney/solicitor in UK, US or similar western common law based jurisdiction. Experience in dealing with International commercial agreements.
Required: Minimum of 5-7 years relevant legal experience as practicing lawyer in a reputable law firm and in-house legal department.
Required: Excellent stakeholder management, coaching and communications skills. Ability to interact with senior level executives with confidence.
Desired: Prefer prior in-house counsel experience with an international company based in UK/US/Western jurisdiction preferred with some exposure/experience in GCC.
Competency in commercial law is required.
Exposure to regulatory and corporate law.
