    Common Services Assistant, Consulate General of Canada in Dubai

    Under the supervision of the EDC Chief Representative, acts as an experienced assistant and provides information, technical, logistical and administrative support for EDC’s market activities in the Middle East in support of EDC’s foreign strategy; efficiently carries out research and other special projects assigned by the Chief Representative needed for business development purposes; engages in project management with respect to Business Origination, Account Management, Transaction Facilitation, Corporate Development, Relationship Management, Market intelligence Activities; engages in Administrative Support of EDC’s Middle East representation; may also provide information and input in the creation, translation and processing of letters, speeches and documents as required by the EDC Chief Representative. This role also encompasses responsibilities such as individual business development projects, representing EDC to clients while the Chief Representative is travelling, as well as providing guidance and advice to EDC clients and EDC teams.


    Job Requirements

    Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language.

    Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

      Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree from a government recognized university or equivalent experience in a similar role.

    • Language:

    • Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

    • Fluency in Arabic (reading, writing, and speaking).

    • Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a senior administrative role

    • Significant experience in working with a client group developing client and stakeholder relationships

    • Experience in project management or account management

    • Experience as a translator

    • Knowledge

    • Knowledge of office practices and procedures

    • Computer skills (Word processing, Excel, PowerPoint) and general aptitude for computer applications

    • Asset Qualifications

    • Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.

    • Experience working in a financial institution

    • Fluency in French (reading, writing, and speaking).
