Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join Etihad Aviation Group as a Head of Strategic Engagement. This role will lead the Enterprise Analytics Business Engagement function, ensuring the translation of business insights into strategic organisational change. Reporting to the Vice President Commercial Strategy & Enterprise Analytics, he/she will drive forward transformational strategic projects led and supported by data and business intelligence.
The successful candidate will take great pride in coordinating and managing the Enterprise Analytics Business Engagement team, with respect to their organization, development and day to day activities – ensuring the effective interface of the unit with the key stakeholder departments across the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Drive insights from analytics and research across the business to support strategic growth initiatives and decision-making across the airline
Foster relationships with the airline’s senior and executive leadership to identify new and emerging airline strategies, policies and operational issues
Maintain coordination and leverage team expertise to contribute to strategic decision-making and organisational change
Provide idea leadership across all phases of insight development – conceptualization, design, implementation, insight interpretation and communication
Work with the Enterprise Analytics leadership team to identify and implement enterprise analytics projects, programs and plans to support the achievement of strategic business initiatives
Provide team leadership to Business Translators – defining and communicating the strategic and tactical objectives of the unit and deploying resources to support change/transformation projects
Manage the effective achievement of objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff in order to maximize job performance
Job Requirements
Minimum Bachelor Degree or above in relevant field preferred
Project management experience an advantage
Minimum of 8 + years of experience in multiple aviation domains and/or business consulting.
Previous experience with airline operations and programme leadership is required.
Experience in interacting and influencing C-level executives, defining strategy and driving complex cross functional / company initiatives is essential
Experience in simplifying complex subjects through clear and succinct communication.
Proficiency in the understanding and interpretation of airline data and application to deliver insight and business change
Expert knowledge in the wider analytics toolkit within Etihad eg. SQL, Business Objects, Microsoft Office
Business Functional Expertise
It will be essential you have significant understanding in at least 1 of the following domains:
Airline planning (network, crew)
Revenue (RM, sales, distribution)
Operations (network operations, flight operations, crewing, airports)
Cost and Investment (overheads, labour, fleet, aircraft)
Transformation (business process redesign, cross functional initiatives)
Digital Guest and Customer (identification, tracking, product, guest experience)
