Job Description
The Senior Planning Engineer supports the project management team and will work under the supervision of the regional Planning Team Leader. The SPE provides all relevant project disciplines with high quality scheduling and reporting on various levels by summarizing the project status information. The SPE is able to understand all available templates and utilizes these best practices independently in parallel projects assigned to. The SPE is responsible for monitoring the schedule, the engineering document submittals, milestones and critical path and events that cause direct or indirect influence and notifies the same to all relevant project team members. The SPE has a proven track record of successful application of fundamental practices and procedures of particular areas in planning and drives actively quality and improvements to minimize non-conformances.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Create baseline schedules for newly awarded projects, prepare tender schedules, setup recovery programs in running projects on own initiative
Integration of various sub-level programs to a summary schedule and provide various level of detail schedules for status overview and review by Project
Management Team (PMT) and management
Updating programs with PMT taking design and engineering, civil and MEP works, subcontractors and other work activities into account. Close coordination with these disciplines in order to have feasible project forecast programs available
Tracking and monitoring all project activities on regular (weekly) basis. Support relevant PMT members in setting priorities on critical path activities and steering site/ project activities accordingly
Support project disciplines as e.g. civil works, site operations, electrical installation etc. in establishing "sub-programs" providing more detail in order to manage/ control site activities in an professional manner
Continuous review and implementation of updates of supplier submitted programs together with relevant PMT members in order to identify critical interfaces
Attend regular meetings with suppliers and PMT to present actual situation, comparisons between baseline and actual dates, critical path activities, forecast completion date etc.
Furnish delay events in execution programs and prepare EoT schedules for CCM
Support the project team in effective co-ordination of all project related activities based on agreed programs
Abide by and comply with the Siemens Compliance and Business Conduct Guidelines
Ensure at all times that assigned tasks are operated in line with the QA process and procedures, statutory, regulatory and EHS requirements
Job Requirements
Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification
At least 10 years’ experience in a professional project planning environment working for EPC Contractors
Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 version 8 and above
Ability to solve problems and pro-active in all aspects of project execution
Ability to work under own initiative to tight deadlines
Ability to coordinate works and track progress of works in all project execution phases
Experience in electrical infrastructure project execution
Experience working in multi-national teams
