Job Description
Reporting to the Manager of Procurement in the Procurement Department, the purpose of this role is to support sourcing operations through the collection, management, and analysis of data. The role develops insights, which will drive actionable improvement within the Procurement and Contracts Department (PCD). The Procurement Analyst will become a critical member of several Strategic Sourcing teams providing analytical rigor and technical expertise to produce fact-based summary information enabling Procurement & Contracts Manager (PCM) to improve sourcing decisions & category management activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Develop sustainable processes through which data is collected, cleansed, managed and analyzed. Report insights to PCM to be used in strategy development and in the execution of sourcing events.
The role will be responsible for the quality of data provided from multiple sources for use in routine and complex problem solving exercises. In completing this work, the position will develop and share techniques/best practices to improve the collection and verification of the data.
Create cost models that will accurately reflect the financial impact (e.g. Cost Savings, Cost Avoidance, ROI, etc.) of a particular sourcing scenario/circumstance.
Procurement Analysts will be called upon to provide analytical support during supplier evaluation and negotiation processes. The position will be expected to handle a significant amount of data, which provide fundamental support to Category Management as PCD develops, executes and manages sourcing strategies.
The role will play a key role in the facilitation of Sourcing Events. Web-based E-Sourcing applications (e.g. people soft and / SAP) will be used to communicate with and to collect critical data from different resources. PCM will rely on the Sourcing Analyst to provide sound E-Sourcing event design and execution recommendations.
The position will be expected to communicate primarily with internal stakeholders but may also have discussions with external suppliers and third parties (e.g., consultants, industry organizations).
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or engineering discipline, such as Operations Management, Decision Sciences, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
At least 1 year of data analytics/management experience and / or at least 3 years of solid experience in a Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics or Operations role.
Excellent analytical skills and judgement
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Advanced Excel skills
Knowledge of RDBMS (via SQL) concepts
