    The U.S. Mission in Kuwait is seeking one eligible and qualified applicant for the position of a Storekeeper in the USA Global Media (USAGM) - Kuwait

    The incumbent receives, stores, arranges, issues and inventories all USA Global Media (USAGM) Expendables and non-expendable supplies and prepares draft requisitions and replenishments. Researches market and procures parts and supplies using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

    • Incumbent serves as property custodian and supervisor for USAGM Kuwait’s warehouse operations, responsible for maintaining accountability of parts and supplies, both expendable and non-expendable located in US Global Media (USAGM) Kuwait offices, stockrooms, and warehouse Direct supervisor, for one Warehouse Assistant.

    • Prepares the annual property inventory report of all expendables and non-expendable properties, the replacement schedule for office equipment, appliances, furniture and furnishings as prescribed by Foreign Affairs Manual (FAM) and advises supervisor. As part of delegated internal management control responsibility, incumbent prepares property inventory positing, proposal for disposal and supervised documentation of property acquisition, disposal and preparation of predict reports as required by B/EO in accordance with documentation of property acquisition, disposal and preparation of periodic reports as required by B/EO in accordance transmitting Station Instructions (TSI).

    • Performs daily maintenance of computerized SIPS (expendable) and PIPS (real and sensitive) inventory systems reflecting withdrawals, new entries and correction of errors identified during monthly inspections.

    • Issues and files hand receipts for U.S. Government property located in USAGM’s government leased housing, to employees and station visitors for U.S. Government property.

    • Submits to the station manager in draft, recurring reports of inventory status, as required by TSI-108 and corrections of monthly inspection deficiencies identified by American inspectors.

    • Establishes minimum and maximum levels for spare parts and expendables. Initiates U.S. Requisitions as necessary for stock replacements.

    • Serves as central source for filing all outgoing IA-42 Requisitions. Tags completed files and pending files accordingly. Files incoming and outgoing logistics messages in respective IA-42 files. Prepares completed requisition list and new requisition list for monthly reports and the first of the month FAXFAX messages to Washington.

    • Assures published safety precautions are observed in area where stock work is performed to include offices, warehouses and storerooms. Ensures that proper safety awareness signs are posted and ensures that proper safety clothing are worn such as shoes w/steel toes and safety glasses. No items weighing more than 10lbs shall be stored on top shelves. Packs and prepares cartons, pallets and containers for outbound shipments using USAGM’s FAXGFAX messaging system.

    • Assures all stock rooms and warehouses are neat and clean, floors mopped and shelves clear of dust and dirt. Assures stocked items carry a neat and tidy appearance.

    • Serves as an alternate Procurement Agent for transmitter plant expendable supplies. Conduct market research for sources and materials. Makes determination if commercial products can meet station requirements. Makes purchases using government commercial purchase card and imprest funds upto$25K.


    Job Requirements

    • Completion of High School education is required

    • Two years of experience in the field of warehousing or stock control or logistics management leading to progressively responsible experience working within procurement supply and/or inventory management is required. One year of supervisory experience.

    • Level IV fluent Reading/Speaking/Writing English. This will be tested.

    • Must have good knowledge of inventory systems, methods of property accountability and warehouse management, commercial products available in the market place.

    • Ability to operate a forklift and hand truck.

    • Must have ability to negotiate with vendors in the local market place.

    • Skilled in the use of computer programs such as MS Word, Excel databases and inventory management systems.
