Our network covers both established and emerging markets across Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, North America and Latin America. Within these markets, we serve our customers through our global businesses: Commercial Banking, Global Banking and Markets, Global Private Banking, and Retails Banking and Wealth Management.
Our Summer Internships are tailored to those in their penultimate year of study, but you may also apply if you have graduated already. The programme is for those who are available to complete a 10 week internship. Our Internship Programme will start in early June 2019.

Global Banking
If you join us, subject to your preferences and business needs, you will get the opportunity to experience different areas of investment banking, which could include working with: Advisory (M&A), Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged & Acquisition Finance, Financial Sponsors, Project and Export Finance, Infrastructure and Real Estate Finance, and our advisory-focused Sector teams.

Global Markets
After a week of induction and training, you’ll complete a nine-week placement in either sales or trading. In sales, you’ll learn about developing and nurturing relationships with customers, communicating general market views and specific investment solutions. In trading, the focus will be PUBLIC on helping with orders for customers and keeping them updated with news and order flows, as well as communicating information to sales.

Global Liquidity and Cash Management
After a week of induction and training, you’ll complete a nine-week placement that will build your expertise in one of the following areas: Product, Business Risk and Control Management (BRCM), Sales, or Business Management. You’ll gain experience of projects and client exposure and have the chance to learn more about products and services within Global Liquidity and Cash Management across our international network.

HSBC Securities Services
After a week of induction and training, you’ll complete a nine-week which will build your expertise in in custody services, investment operations, fund administration, corporate trust and loan agency services. You’ll gain experience of projects and client exposure, and have the chance to learn more about products and services across HSBC Securities Services.

Learning and development We take your learning and development seriously so that you get the most out of your internship. Your time with us will begin with a one-week induction that will give you an overview of HSBC, our business and culture, and how Global Banking fits into the overall structure. After this, your placement will provide you with a combination of practical experience and on-the-job training. This will help you to develop your technical skills and give you a detailed insight into our markets.
At he beginning of your internship, you’ll be set measurable objectives and receive feedback throughout the 10 weeks. There will be many people you can call on for support. Your manager will be able to give you guidance on your career options. You’ll be assigned a mentor who will help you to get the most out of the experience, and a buddy to share ideas with and who you can call on for advice. There will be regular business and social events to attend so you can build a network of global contacts, which will prove invaluable to you in the future.
Job Requirements
Be on track for a minimum 2.8 CGPA or equivalent (predicted or gained).
Have consistently achieved objectives set for you and taken action to improve your own performance.
Have self-awareness with the confidence to work independently and take responsibility for your own development.
Have worked collaboratively with other colleagues, supporting them when possible.
Only UAE nationals with family book are eligible to apply.
