    Mashreq Bank is currently seeking to hire a Senior Auditor (Wholesale Banking) To Independently plan, supervise and conduct reviews, and other assignments by leading a team on onsite examinations.

    To identify and surface credit, market, operation risks and emerging trends on the basis of early warning signals in a proactive manner.

    As a specialist with both review and business with experience in either credit, market or operation risk and having to participate in or carry out off site and onsite reviews through critically evaluating inputs from CBG,FID,TCM, Credit Admin, Islamic Banking and Risk Management and ongoing interaction with managers and heads of these areas.

    Conceptualize, document and present reports with recommendations as a specialist to Senior Management in areas assigned

    Leading a review team (2-4 plus Guest Examiner of O or N grade) with the objective of meeting the Divisions onsite review standards, grading the unit under review and producing a report which reaches the CEO.

    Independently as a Desk Officer proactively managing the monitoring of Units allocated and providing bi annual reports with ratings for these Units to Division Managers and Group Heads. This involves continuous analysis of risk areas, identifying and surfacing risks and emerging trends on the basis of identifying early warning signals and offering solutions.

    Proactively interact with Relationship/ Unit Managers/Credit Managers on review findings, surfacing of risks and mitigation.

    The significant changes implemented and being implemented by Risk Management and the new/expanding areas of business in CBG, FID, Islamic Banking and TCM will see the risk review dimensions grow exponentially in the next three years and will require a build up of expertise in one or more specific risk assessment areas.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:


    • Supervise the assigned Off site /Onsite Review functions in an efficient, effective and proactive manner to achieve its objectives and to recognize and surface risks on the basis of timely identification of risks and early warning signals. Appropriate corrective actions to be recommended to the line in order to mitigate risk.

    • Fully comply with all systems and procedures, review criteria for selection of review parameters as established and modified from time to time, internal processes, turnaround time and credit policy in carrying out the job in a professional and efficient manner.

    • Ensure that review of credits both On and Offsite is carried out professionally and objectively to recognize and surface risk accurately and to assign appropriate risk ratings to the areas reviewed. Assigning of accurate risk ratings by business units and Risk Management in a timely manner is critical to the bank.

    • Review assigned units of the bank to recognize and surface risks and assign appropriate risk ratings in a timely manner, for appropriate corrective steps by the units or the relationship officers. Closely monitor closure of action plan items.

    • As an Exam Manager for on-site review, supervise and manage exams (supported by N and O level Guest examiners) in a manner that all the review processes and approved review plans are complied with fully, risks in credits /processes are recognized and surfaced accurately and in a timely manner, correct risk ratings are assigned, results are effectively communicated to the unit and their buy in is obtained, in order to achieve the overall objectives of the review.

    • Provide suggestions and recommendations to the line to improve Processes in order to safeguard the banks interests.

    • Ensure that Reviews are conducted in an objective and professional manner so that there is no communication gap and results are largely accepted by the reviewees.

    • Provide on the job coaching and guidance, both offsite and during onsite exams

    • Establish good working relationships with the line to develop mutual understanding in order to facilitate communication and their acceptance of the review findings

    • Manage the monitoring of allocated business units to ensure early identification of risk through maintaining close contact with the units and use of MIS. Design appropriate MIS if not available to allow appropriate monitoring.


    Job Requirements

    • MBA or Business graduate from a prestigious and/or well recognized business school.

    • Minimum 7-10 years experience with reputed international bank, with at least 5 years in a credit risk assessment or relationship banking role.

    • High degree of lending (credit, analytical, judgmental) skills across various industries /countries.

    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

    • Fluent in English and excellent report writing skills

    • Computer literate.
