    The U.S. Mission in the UAE is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Voucher Examiner / Alternate Class B Cashier

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

      Voucher Examiner

    • Responsible for timely and accurate payments for a portion of Abu Dhabi and Dubai vouchers.

    • Voucher types range from vendor invoices and grants to employee reimbursement payments for a total of 45 agencies with a combined value of $60 million.

    • Responsible for ensuring proper payment and account reconciliation of assigned accounts including utilities, leases, employee allowances (housing, education, homeward passage) and Citibank credit card payments.

    • Processes rejections and advance clearances (TX vouchers), and responds to Bangkok audit queries as required.

    • Responsible for preparing a portion of the Embassy’s VAT refund claim valued at approximately $1,500,000 annually, and the Embassy’s Excise VAT refund claim valued at approximately $7500 annually.

    • Alternate Cashier

    • Serves as the back-up alternate Class B Cashier with an as needed advance of $17,600 for 23 USG agencies at Post.

    • When the Class B Cashier is out for long periods, operates with the full Class B accountability of $85,000.

    • Performs the full range of cashier duties while serving as the Class B cashier.

    • Reports directly to the Senior Financial Management Officer while performing cashiering duties.

    • University studies in accounting, finance, business or related field is required

    • Work Experience:

    • Two years of progressive experience in payments and cashiering required

    • Language:

    • Level IV (fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing in English is required

    • Knowledge:

    • Working knowledge of pertinent Department of State procedures and regulations relating to proper payment process.

    • FAM/FAH, DOSAR, internal SOPs, ICASS standards and prompt payment knowledge is critical.

    • Alternate Cashier Users Guide, FAM/FAH guidelines on cash payments/reconciliation.

    • Voucher Examiner/Alternate cashier Knowledge of internal structure of the Mission and specific customer/agency needs.

    • Abilities and Skills:

    • Must be a self-starter and independently-motivated.

    • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and multi-tasking skills required.

    • Solid written and communication skills required.
