Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Reporting to the Manager of the Regional Emergency Management Office (REMO) at the Consulate General of Canada in Dubai, delivers regional emergency management services to Government of Canada missions in the Middle East and Africa regions;
coordinates and delivers training;
develops and delivers tabletop and functional exercises; provides emergency management guidance, advice and tools;
develops and maintains productive relationships with host authorities, international organizations and other diplomatic missions.
Job Requirements
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.
Successful completion of a university degree from a recognized university
Fluency in English (both oral and written)
Fluency in French (both oral and written)
Experience working in an office environment for a minimum of five (5) years.
The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.
Knowledge of emergency management principles
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications:
Knowledge of Arabic
Master’s degree in a related field e.g. emergency management
Experience working for a diplomatic mission or an international organization
Experience working in emergency management, consular services or a related field
Experience delivering training
Experience developing and/or delivering emergency management drills, simulations, and/or exercises
