Emirates National Oil Company - ENOC for Oil & Energy is currently seeking to hire a Convenience Store Manager
Under the direct supervision of the Retail Marketing Manager, the C-store Manager is responsible for the implementation of the retail strategy by providing policies and procedures for the various business formats under C-store department including convenience store, grocery, supermarket, kiosk & bakery. This includes the conceptualization, development and roll out of new store formats, new concepts, new customer offers, as well as develop the strategy and implementation of private labels product range to support the above concepts. Strategic decision making in terms of location selection, concept type and offer, product range and pricing, as well as logistics with vendors. The incumbent is responsible for the overall financial aspect of the business including margin and profitability, as well as driving the non-financial aspects including development and enhancement of brand equity & exposure, internal & external store design, layout, presentation, merchandise & suppliers' management, Price Book management as well as the overall customer value proposition.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Establish and develop shop positioning strategies within the market for each of the different concepts through business review and market research (customers & competitors) which covers: Store Segmentation, Space Management, Category Management, Product Management including promotional activities
Development of multi store formats (CSTORE, GORCER Y, SUPERMARKET, KIOSK, BAKERY) internal & external design and lay out
Determine and implement category management strategies and merchandising, product range and vendors
Develop strategies for bakery concept within the stores
Develop expansion plans and roll out
Development of private labels product range as a unique selling proposition
Development of direct imports strategies for exclusive products
Expanding operation to Abu Dhabi and new market segments
Guide the implementation of ZOOM & Pronto for KSA
Support development of franchise for ZOOM & PRONTO in UAE & Gee
Develop the marketing plan for the department with periodic review and update to achieve set objectives
Achieve targeted Sales Revenue, Gross Margin, vendor contribution, and Profit by implementing:
Roll out ZOOM & Pronto standalone new locations to achieve business growth targets.
Develop feasibility studies for new locations to ensure return on investment taking rental costs into consideration
Initiate and manage Promotional Activities to achieve ROI
Optimize Stock Turnover and minimize stock loss
standardize shop layouts across the network through design streamlining
Manage investment cost
Standardize operations & processes and define site level standards for product presentation and handling including product training
Maximize store other income thru negotiations with vendors and generate
Marketing support income
Develop and implement category management strategies
Develop annual development and positioning plans for each of the categories
Determine appropriate merchandise range and point of sales Materials and communication system (equally balanced between Arabic and English) post regular site visits
Set target margins & contribution levels post analysis of Nielsen reports and visits to Retail Outlets across Dubai Retail Market
Guide the addition of new categories
Development of private label product range as a unique sel1ing proposition
Develop targeted exclusive product range through direct imports
Manage supply chain for existing network and new standalone formats with existing & 'new suppliers and revised product ranges
Work with operations team on enhancing processes and improving profitability
Development of multi format retail outlets including: convenience store, supermarket, grocery, kiosks, with or without Pronto
Develop complementary offers such as, Laundry, Deli, Pharmacy, etc., including tie up with third parties and where to be implemented
Development of new store design and layout for company operated leased retail spaces, as well as franchisees locations, prepare for opening, guide and support retail operations team to run the business successfully
Negotiate lease fees with landlords I real estate agent and secure availability of utilities capable to support operation, and coordinate for various authorities’ approvals
Ensure compliance of contractors to design guide lines
Propose improvements to fit out & highlight rectification where required
Identify product range suitable to each concept location based on research on the trading area and align suppliers
Support franchise team and franchisees in implementing ZOOM & Pronto concepts and insure their adherence to guideline and processes
Manage the process of vendor management & settlement on behalf of franchisees
Manage the adaptation of systems and processes (IT & F&A) to support franchise operations
Expanding operation to AbuDhabi Emirate
Guide SEFCO/UNIFCO on the implementation of ZOOM & Pronto in KSA
Support franchise team to expand ZOOM outside UAE
Travel to various regions, and allocate resources from the team to support above initiatives and ensure it success
Establish and maintains a space management System / category store planogram: To optimize merchandising pay back at each C-Store and to optimize sales margins from the C-Stores
Ensure compliance to processes and standards as per ISO 9001 and EMS14001
Ensure implementation of food safety processes
Ensure maintenance of records relevant to the above processes and constant updates as per the business change
Review periodically (weekly/monthly/daily) Sales and Gross Margin for each category, and give directions to the team as needed to improve financial results
Develop and monitor KPI’s, initiatives and action plan with timeline
Establish calendar of promotional activities for the year
Manage individual marketing activities to maximize ROI
Negotiate and obtain supplier support in all major/minor promotions
Manage the Price Book operation and development.

Job Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Business / Marketing
Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in FMCG & Grocery industry
Excellent communication, negotiation and business relationship management skills
Detailed up to date knowledge of change and trends in the retail business environment
Excellent understating in product / category management
