The U.S. Mission in the UAE is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Supervisory NIV Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Serves as the Supervisory Visa Assistant, supervising five Visa Assistants in the Non-immigrant Visa (NIV) Unit.
Assigns daily work, short term and long term projects to all Visa Assistants.
As Supervisor responsible for approving and scheduling all leave and completing annual staff evaluations.
In conjunction with NIV Chief coordinates team staff development and cross training.Performs a variety of NIV functions and is responsible for processing a full range of visa applications in an applicant pool made up of over 120 nationalities.
Determines applicant readiness for interview and expedited processing, presence of fraud indicators, and prints and quality controls issued visas.
Evaluates and responds to routine and complex inquiries - written, oral and telephonic – in an autonomous manner and drafts security advisory opinion requests.
Uses high level subject matter knowledge to complete duties and respond to inquiries.
Serves one or more back-up duties as requested by the Consul General.

Completion of two years of post-secondary education at college or university level is required.
Minimum of three years’ experience of consular work and other related consular work or three years of work experience related to complex legal or regulatory material
Level IV (fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking English is required.
Level IV (fluent), Reading/Writing/Speaking Arabic or Hindi, or Farsi or Urdu is required.
Due to the substantial experience requirement for position at this level, the incumbent must have a good knowledge of US Immigration policies, strategies, rules, regulations that apply in the Consular area.
Must have a good knowledge of specific US immigration policies and procedures is required
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and general computer concepts and skills required.
