    Job Description

    Provide comprehensive support to the sales unit by handling all aspects of sales administration in an effective and timely manner. Attend domestic leisure and corporate sales calls where requested, source market intelligence relating to leisure sales and competitor activity and report this information to the Business Development Manager in a format which assists in developing sales strategy. Provide backup support to the Reservations unit when requested

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

    • Gather and report on market intelligence

    • Collate and analyse market intelligence from internal and external sources in order to establish the latest industry trends and competitor activity.

    • Contribute to the development of sales strategy by compiling reports that present market intelligence and competitor activity in an agreed format.

    • Assist in a range of promotional activities

    • Assist the Business Development Manager and Senior Sales Executive in on-going tactical promotions with tour operators and other partners.

    • Monitor promotional material stock levels and ensure sufficient materials are available for the promotional activities of the unit.

    • Assist external sales representatives with collateral requests, updating of presentation folders, and general trade enquiries.

    • Evaluate the effectiveness of promotions by collecting all relevant sales data, in order that they can be tailored and repeated for the various markets

    • Provide support to the sales department

    • Assist with staff duty travel arrangements.

    • Liaise with trade show organisers and related stakeholders to co-ordinate trade show participation.

    • Assist the Senior Sales Executive with domestic leisure and corporate sales calls where necessary.

    • Organise site inspection visits and prepare running sheets to ensure all operational aspects for site visits are covered.

    • Assist with mailing campaigns, notifications and distribution of brochures and newsletters to clients.

    • Monitor and control the accuracy of tour operator and travel agent copy/images in their catalogues and on websites.

    • Issue and distribute electronically yearly rate contracts to tour operators and update the rates database accordingly.

    • Provide backup support in telephone sales for the Reservations team when necessary.

    Job Requirements

    • Maintain, develop and update existing client databases to ensure accurate and current records are available.

    • Must have at least a diploma in marketing and sales-related subjects or 2 years’ experience in hotel or leisure travel industries.

    • An understanding of international and local travel trades is highly advantageous

    • Computer literacy is essential and a thorough knowledge of Excel is a minimum requirement.

    • Experience in the Rooms Division in a hotel is an asset.

    • Must have a systematic and logical approach to problem solving, and capability to work around problems. Good creative and lateral thinking skills, with a highly organised approach. Should be capable of performing well under pressure.

    • Must have the legal right to work and live in Egypt. The Company will not provide or assist with obtaining a work permit.
