Job Description

The continuity and conformity level of Shari’a rules & principles by taking responsibility for the assistance in the continuously monitor compliance of ADIB’s businesses & activates with the resolution, fatwas, regulations, standards issued by the Higher Shari’a Authority (“HSA”) in Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (UAECB).

Duties and Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

Adhere to:
- HSA resolutions, standards etc.
- AAOIFI Shari’a Standards.
- Shari’a Compliance objectives, mission and vision as determined in the Shari’a Governance Standard issued by UAECB.
Achieve very good knowledge of ADIB processes, policy & procedures.
Achieve very good knowledge of AAOIFI Shari’a standards.
Assist in maintaining the Shari’a regulatory compliance inventory list.
Assist in increasing ADIB’s staff Shari’a governance & compliance awareness by conducting training programs.
Keeping abreast of regulatory/laws and international standard/best practices.
Achieve high standards of behavioral competencies according to the competencies defined by the line manager.
Keep a constructive working relationship with Shari’a Compliance clients in order to achieve the overall objectives.
Maintain excellent teamwork environment and team spirit.
Whenever requested by line manager, review new and/or changes to bank’s policies and procedures (related to Shari’a Compliance) in order to evaluate the Shari’a control adequacy and related risk mitigation.
Maintain very good efficient and professional oral and written communication skills, in Arabic and English.

Job Requirements

Fresh graduate
Shari’a (Fiqh Al Mu’amalat) academic background.
Good knowledge of Shari’a compliance function requirements.
Very good communication and presentation skills, in Arabic and English.
Good knowledge about banking environment.
Computer Skills – use of applications especially Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
