Job Description
The job holder will be responsible to support the Kuwait CFO in delivering all areas of internal and external reporting, management of risk and control within Finance and development of team members.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
As a member of the Kuwait Finance team, assist the CFO Kuwait in supporting the senior management team in respect of strategic and financial matters
Support the CFO in ensuring that all HSBC Group and local reporting requirements are delivered to the highest standards and within the required deadlines
Responsible for taxation matters relating to the Bank. To assist in the filing of the annual tax returns and also participate in the annual tax assessments.
Responsible for delivering all reporting requirements as requested by Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK), along with maintaining the relationship with the CBK
Review existing reporting processes, especially Central Bank reporting, to deliver a more efficient, sustainable streamlined and automated process
Have exposure to the Kuwait Global Business and Function teams by providing support, insight and guidance to them to manage their income and cost base
Ensure that the regulatory reports (existing and proposed) relating to Finance are submitted to Central Bank of Kuwait within the required deadlines and to the highest quality of accuracy.
Review the Group reporting for accuracy and provide commentary to variance analysis
Review the monthly ALCO presentation and attend the ALCO Management meetings
Ensures maintenance of HSBC Internal Control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by regulators including the management of operational risk.
Job Requirements
Kuwaiti Nationals Only
Ideally 8 years of finance experience in a banking environment; qualified accountant is preferable; degree level education
In depth knowledge and practical experience of the Kuwait banking market, rules and regulations of the Central Bank of Kuwait including all regulatory reporting requirements
Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and influence at both senior and junior levels
Commercially focused, with good analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
Proven ability to deliver change (process re-engineering) on a timely basis
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to successfully work in a complex and matrix management environment
Strong Excel skills
Good knowledge of IFRS regulations
