    Mashreq Bank is currently recruiting for the role of Credit Management and Control Manager

    Handling of complex transactions with focus on onboarding high quality new to bank relationships which would entail preparation of high quality credit applications with proper identification of risks and mitigates which aligns with bank's target market, appetite and credit policies.


    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

    • Responsible to prepare accurate and complex credit proposals within acceptable Turn Around Time which meets bank’s internal standards.

    • To be able to assess customer’s financial data and identify risks/mitigates in line with banks risk appetite while highlighting any policy exceptions within the credit application and recommending mitigates for same.

    • Acting as the first line of risk control through providing the unit manager with a credit memo highlighting all credit risks and concerns of the transaction.

    • Transaction screening and conducting independent due diligence (i.e: Central bank check, Name screening, desktop search….etc)

    • Work closely with Corporate relationship managers to produce credit risk analysis and recommendations for credit facilities, support in KYC, due diligence and credit risk monitoring/enhancement throughout the relationship approval/onboarding process;

    • To be involved with Corporate relationship managers in the discussions of customers’ requirements, facility structure and related terms and conditions in addition to ensuring that all necessary information required for processing a credit proposal are obtained from the customer.

    • Taking ownership of assigned initiatives / projects for the division and within the bank.

    • Handling monthly/quarterly reports and ensure timely submissions.

    • Adhere to risk and compliance policies and practices within Mashreq bank, while ensuring to obtain necessary compliance approvals for high risk relationships.

    • Acquire thorough knowledge of the bank’s credit policies, products and services.

    • Attending to customers calls as may be required.

    • Review of facility documents in coordination with originators for execution including liaising with Legal team and obtaining required approvals.

    • To coordinate with operation team for limits loading and obtain required approvals in case of any exceptions.

    • Handling of account opening with originators and have full acquaintance of the DOB system while working closely with middle office and compliance to ensure smooth account opening experience.

    • Undertaking Risk and Control Assessment on quarterly basis to ensure compliance with Operational Risk Management policy of Mashreq bank.


    Job Requirements

    • Well-developed credit risk and financial analysis skills, with minimum 5-6 years in banking preferably in the wholesale Credit risk management.

    • Good knowledge of bank’s capabilities, specifically the full spectrum of Corporate products, services and product offerings;

    • Proficiency in credit risk, financial analysis, financial modeling, legal and bank’s product is a pre-requisite;

    • Sound knowledge of Bank’s policies and operating systems;

    • Good understanding of local regulations, AML and Fraud policies;

    • Strong interpersonal skills;

    • Good written / verbal communication and presentation skills;

    • Planning, time management and resource management skills.
