Emirates Development Bank (EDB) is looking for Financial Controller
The Financial Controller will be responsible to manage, coordinate, plan and control EDB Finance & Accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, monitoring of general ledger (GL) and recording of all financial activity of EDB, including management reports and development of EDB’s Financial statement preparation in accordance with management requirements and regulatory guidelines. He/She will be responsible for the overall financial control of the bank, ensuring the safeguarding of bank, as well as the accuracy and completeness of local financial accounting; regulatory and VAT reporting
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Day-to-day financial management and oversight of the systems, processes and controls over financial reporting
Oversight of the month-end close process to enable efficient and effective management reporting on a monthly or quarterly basis, as required
Oversight of external financial reporting, including preparation of entity financial statements and working with external audit (IFRS)
Analysis and reconciliations of both cost lines and balance sheet accounts
Supervise the activities of all the accounting staff [A/P, A/R, Payroll].
Oversight of quarterly VAT submission
Collaborate with the Finance Change team to shape and define business processes, drive requirements and agree resources, acting as the key internal finance stakeholder for change projects and be accountable for successful delivery
Improve and maintain internal controls and risk management processes across the Finance function

+7 years of relevant work
Bachelor’s Degree in Relevant Field Required
Professional Accountancy qualification
Financial services experience
Strong technical knowledge
Strong analytical skills
