Job Description
As a Barclays Associate within our FIG (Financial Institutions Group) business you will be part of a multidisciplinary team with extensive Mergers and Acquisitions expertise having executed a variety of complex transactions across the different verticals, including banking, asset management, FinTech, and insurance. The team manages the origination and execution of transactions involving clients of Barclays, contributing to building our franchise across META (Middle East, Turkey and Africa).
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Leveraging your past investment banking or related experience to enhance M&A execution and capital raising capabilities
Conducting relevant market research to provide support with the origination of new META and cross border transactions
Being responsible for building pitch books and client decks - developing detailed industry materials for FIG-specific transactions
Developing and maintaining financial models for M&A and capital raising transactions with the use of a variety of valuation techniques
Supporting the due diligence process in the context of live transactions
Maintaining client relationships during the deal execution period and building industry and product-specific expertise
Managing and mentoring analysts by providing detailed guidance and feedback, managing information flow, and providing exposure to analyst, as appropriate
Job Requirements
A solid academic background – Minimum of Bachelors’ degree or equivalent
Proven Financial Institutions Group M&A Advisory experience obtained in a bulge bracket investment bank
Excellent technical skills, including both financial analysis, modelling and valuation techniques
Proven quantitative skills, particularly MS Excel and financial modelling (including DCF/ DDM and LBO) and MS Powerpoint
First class experience and understanding of business planning, preparing presentations and executing due diligence
Fluency in English is required
Fluency in Arabic or French is beneficial
