    This internship will be with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa (ROMENA) in Cairo for a maximum of 6 months.

    Applicants must be willing and prepared to undertake the internship remotely for a part or the entirety of the internship.


    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

    • Assistant in creating marketing communication products for different media;

    • Designing brochures, reports, one pagers, fast facts and infographics;

    • Assist in proposing and updating corporate promotional products;

    • Media Monitoring: monitor traditional and online media for stories related to UNODC mandates and produce daily media reports;

    • Support content creation for the ROMENA website (e.g. press releases, articles and web stories, and newsletters related to ROMENA activities/events);

    • Assist in report launches and media enquiries, including media outreach;

    • Assist in proofreading and/or translation;

    • Assist in organizing meetings, seminars and events to promote wider cooperation with donors, foundations, the private sector and government partners;


    Job Requirements

    • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

      • (a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);

      • (b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);

      • or (c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above)

    • Be computer literate in standard software applications;

    • Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter

    • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views

    • Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic with fluency in speaking, reading and writing. Working knowledge of French is an asset.
