EFG Hermes is currently recruiting for the role of Compliance Officer
Execute the Compliance Monitoring Program, and regularly review and update policies and procedures to ensure the firms’ Asset Management activities regulatory compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Assist in the implementation and update of the Compliance Monitoring Programme, Compliance manual, anti-money laundering policies and procedures, and systems and controls in line with applicable regulations on a regular basis.
Provide reports on a regular basis to the Compliance Director and keep him/her informed of the progress of compliance efforts, as well as the progress and conclusion of material issues and breaches.
Conduct AML Risk classification for onboarding clients, perform CDD and EDD on new and existing clients. Ensure that sufficient clients KYC and AML documentation are in place.
Work with the Learning and Development function of the Corporate Human Resources department and others as appropriate to ensure effective implementation of the Compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees and ongoing mandatory training for all employees and managers. Ensure all employees receive AML & Sanctions training on annual basis.
Assist the Compliance Director in ensuring the comprehensive and timely implementation of recommendations of its internal and external auditors and/or supervisory authorities, and maintaining all relevant polices based upon industry practices and established internal controls.
Screen prospective and current clients against sanctions lists to ensure that the client does not belong to or have any dealings - directly or indirectly with a sanctioned country/person.
Monitor and report any suspicious transactions to the Egyptian Money Laundering Combating Unit (EMLCU).
Ensure dissemination of new AML & Sanctions regulations to internal stakeholders.
Monitor the daily trading activities of the clients’ accounts.
Ensure that policies and procedures are in compliance with Group Policies, regulatory and legislative requirements and that all employees comply with the firm’s internal staff trading policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Compliance and AML in an investment bank.
Knowledge of financial markets, local industry’s standards and regulations.
Good analytical and critical thinking skills.
Good command of Arabic and English.
Good communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
Able to build partnerships and work well in teams.
Can identify problems and refer/escalate complex issues to a higher level.
Multi-tasker, with the ability to meet changing deadlines, and to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
Ensure deliverables are always of a high quality.
Self-motivated and maintains a positive attitude.
