    American Airlines is seeking Part Time Customer Service Agents at Charleston International Airport

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The Customer Service Agent is responsible for issuing, reissuing, and refunding passenger tickets, booking and confirming flight reservations, rebooking passengers on oversold flights, performing passenger check-in and seat assignment, issuing vouchers, coordinating with contractors for hotel accommodations, meals, and transportation, and coordinating refueling and refresh.

    Customer Service Agents also perform passenger boarding, including ticket lifts and boarding pass lifts. operate gate readers, monitor carryon baggage, operate jetways, make boarding and departure gate announcements, deliver flight documents, perform passenger service flight close-out procedures, accept and tag passengers' baggage, maintain the timeline of flight boarding, perform on-the-job training, process credit card baggage transactions, assist passengers with self-service kiosk check-in and baggage processing, queue lines, clear international documents, and accept and activate passengers' self-tagged bags.

    Handle regional flights and contractor/ground handling agreements or contracts. They must have regular attendance, respond to security and emergency situations, provide gate information, and adhere to company policies, procedures, and performance standards.


    Job Requirements

    The job requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, bilingual language skills, a valid driver's license, FAA criminal background checks, airport authority or US Customs security badges, a pre-employment drug screen, comprehensive background check, or fingerprinting, and U.S. authorization.

    Preferable qualifications include knowledge of Sabre, previous customer service experience, and working in a fast-paced environment
