Job Description
The Ground Operations Crew loads and unloads Customer bags, operates ground service equipment, coordinates the servicing of arriving and departing aircraft, helps prepare aircraft cabin for departure, assists with ramp service duties, and complies with any ad-hoc requests as needed. Essential Responsibilities include operating ground service equipment, services aircraft by operating ground service equipment, works in a ramp environment, tags, lifts, loads and unloads Customer bags, operates external aircraft equipment, helps prepare cabin for Customer boarding and departure, assists Customers with special needs, guides aircraft to and from aircraft parking locations, occasionally carries a handheld radio and communicates effectively with proper radio etiquette, assists with loading and unloading mail, small packages and human remains, ensures and maintains a safe environment and operation, and other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED Diploma, 1 year customer service or sales experience, fluency in written and spoken English, successful job assessment, ability to adhere to JetBlue Uniform Policy Manual Standards, travel and/or work variable hours, follow safety guidelines, perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints, work in all types of weather conditions, give and receive verbal communication, use handheld radios and headsets, maintain a positive attitude, handle objects up to 50 pounds, acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge, Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence, available for occasional overnight travel (10%), legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located, authorization to work in the US is required, pass a ten year background check and pre-employment drug test.
