Job Description
JetBlue is seeking a First Officer to assist the Pilot in Command in ensuring a safe flight outcome. The First Officer must uphold JetBlue's five core values and maintain compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and JetBlue Airways policies. The role involves assisting the Captain in ensuring the safe operation of the aircraft, providing an excellent customer experience, working with fellow crew members to solve customer and operational challenges, maintaining skills and training in accordance with regulations, identifying and recalling JetBlue's Safety Management System, Safety Policy, Security Policy, and behavioural standards, and reporting safety and security concerns, incidents, or hazards. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Job Requirements
The job requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid FAA ATP certificate, 1500 hours of TT, 500 hours in fixed wing airplanes, a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate, and a valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator's Permit.
The candidate must have a valid passport or permanent residence card, three reference letters from pilots, proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and browsers, excellent communication skills, fluency in English, creativity, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving abilities.
The candidate must be able to report within 2 hours of notice, adhere to JetBlue Flight Crewmember Uniform Appearance Standards, and work as part of a team.
Must also meet JetBlue First Officer Crewmember Uniform Appearance Standards, maintain a personal driving record, and pass a ten-year background check and pre-employment drug test. Eligiblity to work in the US, visa sponsorship is not available.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree, letters of recommendation from current JetBlue Pilots, 3500 hours or more in total flight time in aircraft, greater than 1,000 hours in turbine PIC, and recent flying experience.
